This podcast series explores the 'before psychology' game-changing understanding of the human mind that can exponentially increase the performance, resourcefulness and well-being for any individual or organisation.
This episode we talk to regular contributor and friend of the show Katrijn Van Oudheusden on the day her new book is launched - Beyond Illusion: Exploring the Six Illusions that Cause Our Mistaken Belief in a Separate Self.' This is Katrijn's second book, and it lays down the foundation to exploring the illusion we are all innocently hoodwinked by - that we are a separate self. This book pieces together with insights from neuroscience and philosophy evidence that both directly and indirectly points us to recognise the true nature of what we are, and consciousness as the fabric of reality itself.
Our discussion covers:
- How come the second book is really the first book - foundations .v. implications
- How the book is aimed at those people with an inkling there must be a different way seeing the world and operating
- The relevance in today's world of need to point to something to 'keep the conceptual mind happy' before people will fall awake to something more 'spiritual'
- A brief explanation of the 6 illusions - and how they progress from most accessible to recognise to more hidden and harder to realise
- The relevance of chapter 7 - introducing the importance step of actual inquiring into this directly and for yourself
- What could happen if you read this book - the start of your journey

This podcast series explores the 'before psychology' game-changing understanding of the human mind that can exponentially increase the performance, resourcefulness and well-being for any individual or organisation.
This episode is a conversation with Helen Amery, a fellow coach of the understanding behind Quality of Mind, who poses an excellent exploration, the difference between being 'awake' and having an 'enlightened life'. Do we need to be 'awake' to have an enlightened life? What do those words even mean? Explore with us on this episode...
The discussion covers:
What do we mean by those words? A simple description
If we have a recognition of being 'awake' does that lead to an enlightened life?
What makes it hard to have an enlightened life without a recognition of 'our true nature'
Two more words - The difference between 'inquiry' and 'reflection'
How different coaching approaches start from different places; what truly makes the difference
Is this relevant for the workplace? What does it offer?
How psychological safety is an innocent reverse engineering due to a misunderstanding
Some of the indicators that you might be on the path to either....

This podcast series explores the 'before psychology' game-changing understanding of the human mind that can exponentially increase the performance, resourcefulness and well-being for any individual or organisation.
This episode is a conversation with Quality of Mind colleague Kate Adey. Kate has over 20 years experience in the corporate world - as a consultant and coach.
Have you ever noticed that spark in life has dulled, or the feeling of joy for no reason has evaporated? Are you surviving rather than thriving? And if thriving, is it achieved by striving and grind? Many of us are innocently and invisibly 'comfortably numb'.
Sound like you?..Listen on...
The episodes covers:
How as we grow up gradually and subtly the freedom, ease, and joy can disappear from life, but we see it 'just how life is'
The indicators that you might be more 'comfortably numb' than you realised
How this is exaggerated in most organisations and workplaces
Is there an alternative? What can we do about that?
How do we see the extraordinary in the ordinary
Maybe we have just been looking in the wrong place....

This podcast series explores a game-changing understanding of the human mind that operates ''before psychology'' - that can exponentially increase the performance, resourcefulness and well-being for any individual or organisation.
This episode is taken from the WTF What The Future?! Podcast series. Where Piers was asked to have a real time coaching conversation with three business leaders Ian Parry, Helen Gillett and Andy Caulton, who were keen to learn more about Quality of Mind
In this episode we discuss:
The nature and benefits of the Quality of Mind approach
A mini real time direct self inquiry experiment on 'who we are'
We've never experienced anything outside of the mind - so what?
What is the nature of reality? What has that got to with more leadership potential
It sounds too good to be true, so ''how do I.....''
What is the flow state made of? The aperture
How do you describe Quality of Mind, what it is and what is isn't.
How do you sell and promote something that appears so different; are people sceptical?

This podcast series explores a game-changing understanding of the human mind that operates ''before psychology'' - that can exponentially increase the performance, resourcefulness and well-being for any individual or organisation.
Piers chats with the authors of a new wonderfully helpful book on the subject of exploring Non Duality (which forms the foundation of Quality of Mind). Helen Amery the co-author, has been a regular on the show and she is joined by Sara Priestley to discuss how they developed 'The Complete Book of Awakening'.
In this episode we discuss:
How the book – The Complete Book of Awakening - came about
Why the book is called “Complete”
The definition of awakening
Who the book is for -Why this isn’t a book to ‘read for gist’
Why the book removes all spiritual dogma and paradox
Why direct inquiry and logic are a powerful combination
The three levels of experience and putting them in their right order
Why our conceptual labels don’t reflect reality
Why resistance arises during an awakening inquiry and why that’s OK
Why this inquiry is your own – you have to see it for yourself – and why the outcome isn’t a life floating in bliss as many imagine it to be
Why goals of a nicer life must be put secondary to seeing your essential nature
How do you know if you’ve recognsied your essential nature – awakened?
Why awakening results in the behaviour changes that we usually ‘try’ to make happen in business

This podcast series explores a game-changing understanding of the human mind that operates ''before psychology'' - that can exponentially increase the performance, resourcefulness and well-being for any individual or organisation.
Piers talks to fellow Coach, Stephen Lock, who through his own leadership journey realised organisations are still rooted in the industrial revolution when it comes to how they manage and control themselves. They discuss the way forward....😊
In this episode we discuss:
The roots of our current prevailing corporate culture and leadership style
How ideas like non-hierarchical organizations, or different ways of having conversations have emerged, but missing the true understanding and relevance of human consciousness
How our conditioning and culture has made some areas seem a no go - and then we wake up
What do we fear losing by exploring something different?
An organisational example of where it does work, to start from a different foundation
Do we need to reverse engineer or can we go straight there?

This podcast series explores a game-changing understanding of the human mind that operates ''before psychology'' - that can exponentially increase the performance, resourcefulness and well-being for any individual or organisation.
In this episode Piers chats with Clare Dimond a wonderful return guest to the show, and this time the topic is about how the personal mind creates a sense of seeking and wanting, and how we can tune into a 'purer' sense of evolving and creating. Clare is a skilled teacher of the understanding behind Quality of Mind, and a prolific and gifted author.
In this episode we discuss:
What is behind all wants and desires
The red herring of the rewards in life, our peak moments - fuelling the confusion.
The purpose of resistance - not trying to avoid it and how it is our inner conditioning made external -
Feel and sensing not thinking about our feelings and emotions
Shifting out of identification and inevitable resistance, and how that leads to curiousity
Deeper knowing and sensing, obviousness
Two types of sensitivity: our fluid raw primal 'reality immersion' and our conceptual separated conditioned based sensitivity
The intelligence in how to run the body mind- the sensing and then our innocent identification to that
The natural revealing a way of supporting a body mind to its optimum

This podcast series explores a game-changing understanding of the human mind, before psychology, that can exponentially increase the performance, resourcefulness and well-being for any individual or organisation.
In this episode Piers chats with insightful business leader and global commentator - Chris Nurko. Chris has decades of global business leadership experience. He is a true thought leader in innovation, branding and creative collaboration. This is a more 'downstream' and less 'technical' conversation than some of our episodes but of course still points to what is behind everything - the mind. Chris is someone with an intuitively high Quality of Mind in the game of life, so enjoy the listening to how success gets created in the business world when you recognise the most important variable
This episodes discusses:
Starting with aperture - how organisational culture as an operating system can contract or expand possibility
Breakthrough brands and how they alter the consciousness of society
Opening your mind to harnessing the powers of others for mutual goals, exponentially accelerates the potential impact
Modern business don't give the space for realization to happen, which is where mindsets dissolve new perspectives come along
How titles, resumes, achievements are all ego defences and crutches - the myth of brand 'me'
The growing importance of seeing how the role of mind impacts everything
